Get Started With Career and College Promise

Through Career & College Promise (CCP), qualified high-school-age students in North Carolina have the opportunity to pursue these pathways, tuition free, while they are in high school, allowing them to get a jumpstart on their workplace and college preparation.

New Student

  1. Meet with your high school counselor (or designee) to discuss dual enrollment options and fill out the ICC application for admissions. Complete your application
    • Homeschool students will meet with their homeschool administrator and setup an appointment with the homeschool coordinator. This meeting can be arranged by emailing ccp@isothermal.edu
  2. Once an application has been completed, submit a completed admissions packet, including all required signatures, to ccp@isothermal.edu. This should include:
    1. Verification Form
    2. Permission Form 
    3. High School transcript indicating grade level and unweighted, cumulative GPA
    4. Liability Form (see form for programs requiring liability waiver)
    5. Registration Form - will be completed during registration
    6. Justification FormRequired for all students with an unweighted high school GPA under 2.8 and all 9th and 10th grade CTE students 
  3. Registration will occur on the designated CCP Registration day(s). See your high school counselor for these dates. Homeschool students will email ccp@isothermal.edu to setup an appointment to register. 
  4. After completing admissions requirements, you will receive a welcome letter with information on how to setup your login for Moodle, email, and Patriot Port. Verify class(es) through the  ICC Patriot Port account
  5. Attend class

Returning Student

To maintain eligibility for continued enrollment, a student must

  • Continue to make progress toward high school graduation, and
  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA in college coursework after completing two courses.
  • A student who falls below a 2.0 GPA after completing two college courses will be subject to the college’s policy for satisfactory academic progress.

Registration process if eligible for continued enrollment:

  1. Meet with your high school counselor (or designee) to discuss dual enrollment options
    • Homeschool students will meet with their homeschool administrator and setup an appointment with the homeschool coordinator. This meeting can be arranged by emailing ccp@isothermal.edu
  2. Meet with the ICC representative at your high schools designated time. Check with your high school for schedule availability. Home school students will schedule appointments with the homeschool coordinator by emailing ccp@isothermal.edu 
  3. Registration will occur on the designated CCP registration day(s)
  4. Verify classes through the student's ICC Patriot Port account
  5. Attend class

High School Transcripts 

State Board Code requires the submission of a high school transcript verifying student eligibility for a Career and College Promise College Transfer pathway and/or Career and Technical Education pathway. High school transcripts must include the following:
  • student grade level (9th, 10th, 11th and/or 12th grade) and
  • high school courses completed and in progress  and
  • unweighted, cumulative high school GPA
Additional high school transcripts must be provided to the college to verify the student is still enrolled in high school and making progress towards high school graduation for each term they are enrolled in CCP.
