Instructor FAQ’s

How do I get course completion cards:
o Once you’ve completed your course and all paperwork as listed on the next few pages your training center has two options 1- transfer ecards to the lead instructor who then must assign the cards to each student or. 2- Assign cards directly to student. If an instructor does not have internet access or does not feel comfortable with computers option 2 will be utilized.

Where does my training center send my ecards:
o Once you’ve completed your course and all paperwork as listed on the next few pages your training center coordinator will issue the lead instructor 1 ecard for each student listed on the roster. The ecards will be sent to the email you    have listed on the AHA Instructor Network. It is vital that you keep this information current at all times to avoid a delay in issuing completion cards.

 Instructor cards:
o Currently Training Centers have the option to print or issue ecards at the provider level. AHA does not have ecards for instructors and as of this time does not have any plans to create ecards for instructors.

 BLS & Heartsaver:
o Instructors who hold a BLS for Health Care Providers Instructor certification can teach all AHA Heartsaver and BLS courses.
o Instructors who hold a Heartsaver Instructor certification can teach all AHA Heartsaver courses but cannot teach BLS courses.

 ACLS & ACLS-EP:
o Instructors who hold an ACLS instructor card can teach ACLS but cannot teach ACLS-EP unless they hold an ACLS-EP instructor certification.
o To be an ACLS-EP instructor you must first be an ACLS instructor therefore all ACLS-EP instructors can also instruct ACLS courses.

 PALS & PEARS:
o Instructors who hold a PALS instructor card can teach both PALS and PEARS.
o Instructors who hold a PEARS instructor card can teach PEARS but cannot teach PALS.
