In 1982, the honor was established by the Eaves family in memory of Dr. Eaves and his distinguished career in education. The award is given each year to an instructor who demonstrates excellence in teaching and a true zeal for service to students.
Faculty members of the Eaves selection committee are not eligible as candidates for the award. For this year, Bret Watson, Alice McCluney, Carolyn Young, Kim Snyder, and Betsy Cuthbertson are not eligible.
Any full-time employee of the college who spends more than 25% of his/her time teaching is eligible for the award, which includes a plaque and monetary award to be presented at graduation. If you are not sure of the eligibility of your nominee, ask the appropriate dean or director.
A nominator can nominate one and only one candidate for this year. In the event of two or more candidates being nominated by the same person, the nominator will be notified that only one choice can be submitted.
All nominations prior to the last Friday in February will be considered for this year’s award cycle.
