The North Carolina Highway Patrol contacted Dr. Johnson on Wednesday morning and informed her that, effective immediately, troopers will begin to enforce more aggressively parking laws along the state roads on campus.

These measures will include ticketing and/or towing any vehicles improperly parked along ICC Loop Road and ICC Drive.

There have been several accidents in recent weeks due to improper parking along these roadways.

All vehicles on campus should be parked in a marked space in a parking lot, not on a roadside, in a fire lane or over a curb. Overflow parking is available in the lot behind The Foundation.

The potential expense of parking fines, court costs and towing fees could be substantial.

Please heed this warning and realize that it is the NCHP's duty to enforce the law.
